Michael Coady

Michael Coady is an award-winning actor from Newfoundland, Canada, with 20 years experience in film, television and theatre. A dynamic and versatile actor, Michael has received critical acclaim for his performances that have been described as “a bright light,” with “boundless energy and confidence,” “compelling,” “spontaneous and affecting.” Having worked professionally since 1999, Michael has over 35 productions to his credit. He has made guest star and co-star appearances on shows like the hit CBC series, “Republic of Doyle”, the History Channel series, “Zero Hour” and Discovery Channel’s, “Life or Death.” He has had national commercials running across Canada.

In Toronto, Michael was cast in such theatre productions as “Evita” and “Cabaret,” with a highlight being, his work in the Canadian premiere of the Broadway musical, “Urinetown”. Led by Tony award-winning director, John Rando, Michael and his ensemble castmates won 6 Doras (Canada’s “Tony” equivalent), including Outstanding Production of a Musical. Having won several awards and nominations for his theater work in Newfoundland and Labrador, Michael returned to his home in 2008 to star in the East Coast Canadian premiere of “Doubt.”

Moving to Los Angeles in 2008, Michael continues to build an exciting career. Michael has appeared in numerous indie films, including “Obsession” (which he also co-wrote, co-produced and starred in). In 2010, Michael completed another 3 films in Los Angeles that will make the festival circuit in 2011. Also in 2011, Michael will travel to Romania to shoot the Global Film Studios feature, “Abused in America”, directed by Bruno Pischiutta …and you will very soon see him as one shocked looking baby-daddy on TLC network’s “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant” 🙂 Michael continues to write and produce his own projects and and looks forward to collaborating with the talented “We Make Movies” community of filmmakers.
